Demcon focal specializes in the design, engineering and assembly of custom optomechatronic systems. Demcon focal serves a variety of high-tech markets, such as the semiconductor industry, bio/medical technology, industrial production and aerospace. Demcon is present in Enschede, Delft (Netherlands) and Münster (Germany).

Demcon focal's history began with its founding in 2008 by Dr. Ir. Gerard van den Eijkel for specialist optics and vision R&D, focusing on custom optomechatronic systems for high-tech markets like semiconductors and biomedical. The history traces through its multidisciplinary engineering expertise, developing advanced optical systems, inspection tools, and laser guide stars for telescopes (like currently the ESO's VLT), showcasing growth to a key player in cutting-edge optical solutions within the Demcon family.

Demcon focal provides design and engineering (D&E) for custom optics, opto-mechatronical and vision systems. Demcon focal features a multidisciplinary approach, involving optical, vision, data, electronic, software, mechanical and system engineering.
Activities include high-level concept and feasibility engineering, detailed engineering, prototyping, manufacturing, assembly, integration and test activities.
We perform specialized optical production with our trained engineers, dedicated equipment, and clean environments. Besides that, we also offer system service and support in combination with Demcon production, so we are prepared for large volume production of optical modules.
Our international team of optics and vision experts have a can-do mentality and a drive to make things work. We have specialists in optical system design, optomechanics, machine vision and data science. Together with the Demcon group we have relevant expertise in material science, mechatronic and mechanical design, computational engineering and cryogenics.
State-of-the-art technology in optics, lens system assembly, laser and vision systems, real-time computing methods, 2D and 3D inspection methods and artificial intelligence are embraced by us and applied in our solutions.
We actively contribute to technology developments in joint research programs with other companies and research institutes, to go beyond the state-of-the-art for our customers.
